Craigslist Etiquette

Craigslist Etiquette

Buyers:

Don't:

• Flake. If you said you'll meet tomorrow, don't cancel the meeting an hour before. If you intend to cancel, give at least 6 hours notice.
• Write emails saying just, "is the item still available?" It shows you are not really committed

Do:

Write, "I am interested in your item, can you mean on [date/time]. My cell is [number]"

Sellers:

Don't:

• Leave your number partially in letters, as you can't click it on a cell phone to easily call it
• Scalp (especially on tickets, don't try to make money off of the ticke at the expense of others)

Do:

• Include detailed pictures, your location, and if willing to deliver item or meet up
• Remove the ad right after you sold the product
• Mention any serious defects, but don't over-focus on them
